SRINAGAR — A terrorist was killed in an exchange of fire with security forces during a joint search operation in the Ashdar Gali area of Budgam district on Friday, the Army said.
According to Srinagar-based Chinar Corps, the operation was launched by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF based on specific intelligence inputs regarding the presence of terrorists in the area.
The Army said vigilant troops observed suspicious activity during the operation and challenged the suspected terrorists, following which they opened fire, triggering an exchange of gunfire.
In the ensuing operation, one terrorist was neutralised, while an AK rifle and other war-like stores were recovered from the site.
