POONCH — A girl died while her two cousin sisters were rescued after they jumped into the river in Poonch district on Friday evening.
Quoting an official, news agency KNO reported that three cousin sisters jumped into the river near Sher-i-Kashmir bridge in Poonch yesterday evening. Soon after the incident, a rescue operation was launched and all three girls were rescued.
The official as per the report said, all the girls were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. However among them one identified as Asia Kouser (18), daughter of Mohd Kabir was declared brought dead on arrival while two others identified as Amreen Kousar (25), daughter of Mohd Bashir and Sonia Kouser (18), daughter of Mohammad Arif are undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, Police have taken cognisance of the incident.
