SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday said they have traced three missing minor girls within hours of their disappearance in Anantnag district of South Kashmir and safely reunited them with their families.
According to a police statement, three minor girls—Munaza Mudasir, daughter of Mudasir Ahmad Bhat, resident of Nunwani; Serat Jan, daughter of Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh, resident of Wardwan and presently residing at Nunwani; and Umera Jan, daughter of Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh, resident of Nunwani—had gone missing from their homes on the evening of June 12.
Taking immediate cognizance of the matter, Police, under the supervision of the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anantnag, constituted multiple teams and launched a coordinated search operation.
Through sustained efforts, technical assistance and ground-level verification, police succeeded in tracing all three girls within hours, the statement said.
Police said the girls were found safe and in good health. After completion of the necessary legal formalities, they were handed over to their respective legal heirs.
The swift recovery reflects the commitment of Police towards ensuring the safety and security of citizens, particularly children and other vulnerable sections of society in Anantnag, police said.
Police also urged the public to promptly report such incidents to enable timely action. — (KIMS)
