Two non-local labourers injured in Budgam attack, condition stable

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Two non-local labourers were injured in a suspected militant attack in Mazhama area of Magam in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Friday evening.

According to sources, the labourers working for Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) project in Mazhama were fired upon by militants, resulting in an injury to one labourer’s right hand and another’s right leg.

They were taken to Sub-District Hospital Magam for treatment, from where doctors referred them to JVC Srinagar for advanced treatment, and their condition is stated to be stable.

The injured labourers have been identified as Usman Malik and Sofiyan—both are residents of Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Following the incident, a joint team of security forces cordoned off the area to nab the attackers. — (KIMS)
