Widespread light to moderate rain, snow in J&K: MeT

SRINAGAR — The Meteorological Department office on Friday forecast widespread light to moderate rain, snow in Jammu and Kashmir. The weather was dry and cold in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours, however parts of Kashmir valley received light snowfall.

“Widespread light to moderate rain/snow is likely to occur in J&K during the next 24 hours in J&K,” IANS quoted an official of the Meteorological Department as having said.

He said, Srinagar recorded 0.1 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature while Pahalgam and Gulmarg recorded minus 2.9 degrees Celsius and minus 7.9 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

In Jammu region he said, Jammu recorded 8.7 degrees Celsius, Katra 7.2 degrees Celsius, Banihal 0.2 degrees Celsius and Bhaderwah 1.6 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature while Batote recorded minus 1.2 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

In Ladakh region he said, Kargil recorded minus 13.8 degrees Celsius and Leh recorded minus 14.2 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.
