Widespread rain, snowfall likely over higher reaches of J&K from October 14-18: MeT

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The weather will remain mainly clear in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir today, the Meteorological Department (MeT) said on Thursday.

An official of the Meteorological Department (MeT) said, “On October 13 (Friday), the partly cloudy weather will become cloudy towards evening and there is possibility of rain and snow over higher reaches towards night at scattered places of Jammu and Kashmir.”

He said, “Widespread intermittent light to moderate rain and snowfall over higher reaches is likely from October 14 to 18,” adding that there will be significant drop in the temperature across during these days.

Meanwhile, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar recorded 8.2°C, Anantnag 4.7°C, Qazigund 5.8°C, Kupwara 6.3°C, Gulmarg 5.6°C, Kokernag 8.1°C and Pahalgam 3.5°C as the minimum temperature in Kashmir region on Thursday.

The winter capital Jammu recorded 17.7°C, Katra 15.6°C, Batote 11.6°C, Bhaderwah 8.9°C and Banihal 7.2°C as the minimum temperature in Jammu region.

In Ladakh region, Leh recorded minus 0.5°C and Kargil NA as the minimum temperature. — (KIMS)
