DGP Nalin Prabhat reviews security, counter-terror operations in Pulwama

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Director General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir Nalin Prabhat on Saturday reviewed the security situation, counter-terror operations and overall law and order scenario in Pulwama district during a high-level meeting.

The meeting was held at the District Police Office Pulwama and was attended by senior police officers, including Special DG Coordination PHQ J&K S. J. M. Gillani, IGP Kashmir V. K. Birdi, DIG South Kashmir Javid Iqbal Matoo and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Pulwama Tanushree along with other supervisory officers.

During the meeting, the DGP assessed the prevailing security situation in the district with a focus on the progress of counter-terror operations, including both kinetic and non-kinetic measures.

He also reviewed overall law and order management and security preparedness in the district.

Interacting with the officers, Prabhat emphasised the need to maintain sustained pressure on anti-national elements and directed officers to remain vigilant and take strict action against those involved in unlawful activities.

He stressed the importance of strengthening intelligence gathering, ensuring close coordination among field units and adopting proactive policing to effectively respond emerging security challenges.

The DGP also appreciated the commitment and efforts of officers and personnel deployed in the district and urged them to continue working with professionalism, vigilance and dedication to ensure peace, public safety and stability in Pulwama. — (KIMS)
