Dry, cold weather to continue in J&K till December 21: MeT

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Meteorological Department (MeT) on Tuesday forecast dry and cold weather in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir till December 21.

An official of the Meteorological Department (MeT) said, “Dry and cold weather is most likely to continue till December over most places of Jammu and Kashmir.”

He said, “There is possibility of brief spell of very light snow at isolated extreme higher reaches of North and North Eastern parts of Kashmir division during the night of December 16th.”

He said, “Shallow to moderate fog is likely to continue at many places of Kashmir division.”

He said, “There is slight improvement in Minimum temperature due to feeble Western Disturbance.”

Meanwhile, the Summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar recorded minus 1.5°C, Qazigund minus 2.6, Kupwara minus 2.4°C, Gulmarg minus 3.5°C, Kokernag minus 2.3°C and Pahalgam minus 1.5°C as the Minimum temperature in Kashmir region.

The Winter Capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Jammu recorded 9.8°C, Katra 8.2°C, Batote 4.3°C, Bhaderwah 2.6°C and Banihal 2.2°C as the Minimum temperature in Jammu region. — (KIMS)
