KULGAM — An encounter breaks out between government forces and militants at Chaki Samad village in Damhal Hanjipora area of Kulgam district. It is second encounter within an hour in South Kashmir.
Reports said a joint team of government forces including Indian Army, J&K Police and CRPF had launched Cordon-and-Search-Operation (CASO) at Chaki Samad village following the inputs about presence of militants in the area.
They said that as the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, militants fired upon them which was retaliated, triggering an encounter.
Earlier an encounter broke out between government forces and militants at Sirhama village in Anantnag district which was going-on till reports last came in.
Meanwhile, authorities have snapped down mobile internet service in the area as a precautionary measure. — (KIMS)
