KATHUA — Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kathua arrested two alleged drug peddlers and recovered around 14 grams of heroin-like narcotics in two separate incidents in Lakhanpur and Ghatti areas, officials said on Thursday.
In the first incident, a police team from Lakhanpur Police Station, during patrolling near the National Highway, apprehended Hardeep Singh, a resident of Tarda Jagatpur, Kathua. Around 10 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession, following which he was arrested. A case under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Lakhanpur.
In the second incident, a team from Kathua Police Station, assisted by the Ghatti police outpost, apprehended Bishav Partap Singh, a resident of Barnoti, during patrolling in the Ghatti area. Around four grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession. A case under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Kathua.
Police said both cases have been taken up for further investigation as part of its ongoing efforts under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
