Four militants killed in Jammu gunfight

JAMMU — Four militants were killed in a brief gunfight that ensued between government forces and militants at Sidhra area in Jammu on Wednesday.

Reports said a joint team of government forces including Indian Army, J&K Police and CRPF had launched Cordon-and-Search-Operation (CASO) at Sidhra area in Jammu following the inputs about presence of militants in the area.

They said that as the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, militants fired upon them which was retaliated, triggering a gunfight.

In the gunfight, four militants were killed and their identification is yet to be ascertained.

Arms and ammunition including 7 AK-47 Rifles, 1 M4 Rifle, 3 Pistols, 14 Grenades and around 50,000 were recovered from the site of encounter. — (KIMS)
