Intense cold grips J&K; MeT forecasts cold, dry weather for next 24 hours

SRINAGAR — The intense cold gripped Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh while dense fog affected the normal life in Jammu on Wednesday morning.

“Mainly a clear sky with cold and dry weather is likely to continue in Ladakh and J&K during the next 24 hours,” IANS quoted an official of the Meteorological Department office as having said.

He said that Srinagar recorded minus 5.6 degrees Celsius, Pahalgam minus 7.4 degrees Celsius and Gulmarg minus 6.0 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

In Jammu region he said, Jammu recorded 2.7 degrees Celsius, Katra 6.2 degrees Celsius, Batote 1.5 degrees Celsius, Banihal 3.3 degrees Celsius and Bhaderwah minus 0.8 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

In Ladakh region he said, Kargil recorded minus 11.8 degrees Celsius and Leh recorded minus 13.4 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.
